Nervous about prepping...

Okay, so I have my entire stash seperated and ready to be prepped. I have the Rockin' Green detergent, but I'm just so freaked out about prepping them.

My main concern is that DH is allergic to everything but Purex detergent, so since we use that for our clothes is it going to mess up the diapers when I go to prep them? Also, we have stopped using dryer sheets...but I'm still afraid to use the dryer fearing there may be build up in it--and cause them to repel.

It should be okay right? I'm so afraid to ruin them.

    Breathe!

    It will all be okay.  It sounds like you are prepared.  The purex shouldn't effect your CDs at all, lots of people use more than more kind of detergent.  Your dryer is probably fine depending on when you stopped using dryer sheets.  If you are really worried, you can wipe it down with some vinegar.

    I was so careful prepping our NB stash.  Now I'm just happy to wash the factory dust off Wink

    Yeah I've done as much research as I can possibly do, plus lurk here constantly... there are just some things I can't find, so I figured I'd be a newbie and ask.

    I guess I will start working on them tonight!

    I prepped all of my diapers last week and was terrified to do it also! I was so afraid I would screw them up, haha. When it was all done, I thought to myself, "I don't know why I made this such a big deal!" I realize even more so now how easy CDing will be.

    This was me too.  I was boiling prefolds and was so nervous about the fact that I was reusing water between batches (I was prepping 3 dozen 6 at a time).  I was also terrified of leaving them in the pot to boil for half an hour because I was convinced I would burn them.  When I had to buy and prep another dozen prefolds, I definately didn't hover over the stove as much, partly because I had a newborn to attend to.

    I just started prepping my diapers yesterday. I just did the prefolds and still have all of my PUL to prep. It was sooo nerve wrecking, but they don't LOOK ruined. haha I guess I will see how it went in June when my little one is wearing them. Just relax. At least there is no way to completely screw them up...they can always be fixed.
