Just Skyped with my parents

Omgosh, have you seen the video of the older couple trying to figure out their webcam? It totally could have just been my parents (although my parents are in their 40's &50's). At first they couldn't figure out how to log out of whichever sibling was logged into Skype and were trying to get onto their own profile by clicking on their name on the contact list. Then once we were connected they couldn't figure out the camera and kept saying "But I SEE MYSELF! And I see you. How can YOU not see me? Maybe it's YOUR phone!" apparently they took a bunch of pictures of themselves on accident while trying to figure it out and I couldn't stop laughing.

In the end, it was great for the kids to be able to talk to and see my parents. We went from seeing them almost on a daily basis to once or twice a month,if that. If you have the ability to do it with your relatives, I really suggest it. My mom and DS2 played peek-a-boo and he was cracking up and DS1 was making silly faces and showed them his soccer skills in our living room.

We Skype when my mom and stepdad are in Florida for the winter. It's really awesome

Five Months to Plan

We Skype my parents at least once a week. They are great with it. My younger sister no so much. Everytime we Skype she is muted and she has to figure it out again. Makes me laugh!!!!

I haven't even thought to do this! Our parents all live an hour away so it's not like we never see them but I know they don't see J as much as they would like to

This is too funny!  I'm so glad that my parents live close, there's no way they would figure it out.

We Skype with both sets of parents about once/week since we live so far away from our families. We definitely had to set it up for them

We skype both of our parents since they live a few hours away.  Surprisingly, my mom is pretty good at being able to make and answer a Skype call, although my dad's never tried it on his own.  DH's parents are another story.  We've been Skyping with them since last March and every.single.time they call or answer it, they don't hit the video button and we can't see them.  So, every.single.time we have to tell them to hang up and tell them which button to hit to make it so we can all see one another. LOL.

Oh dear god yes.  The other day my mom was trying to take pictures of B and she ended up taking a bunch of herself, lol.

we actually live really close to my mom like 20 mins. There are still some weeks we Skype. They like to see DD and more and sometimes their  schedule does not let them be able to get her before her bedtime so we still Skype.
