You mentioned the other day that you were going to make red velvet with beets for the first birthday. Have you ever done this before? Do you have a recipe you would recommend? The recipes I have found so far have all used dye--mind you I haven't looked terribly hard.
Since we called LO Watermelon while I was pg, we are having a watermelon cake. I'm going to use a soccer ball cake pan. Green frosting with green stripes, red velvet cake with mini choc. chips for seeds. Also do you know if green dye is as bad as red? I've never heard of anyone with a green dye allergy, but I know several people who react to red (myself included).
