That is so sad.  She must have been pretty afraid of these ladies or she would have just disobeyed or ran away.  Breaks my heart to think there are people out there willing to hurt children in any way.  I get using running as a punishment, but running for 3 hours is clearly excessive.  I'd like to see that grandma try to run for 3 hours.

These stories just disgust me.  And I just read about the 11 abused kids they found living in a house in Texas.  I seriously wish I could take a hit out on the adults responsible.  And then take these kids in and give them the loving home they deserve.

I am so sad that she felt like she couldn't stick up for herself or run and ask for help.    This is terrible.
