How much does an updo cost at a hair salon?

I am a bridesmaid in a wedding and the bride gave me the cost and it is a lot higher than I thought.. I don't know if I have been hiding under a rock or am totally cheap. The hair dresser will come to the brides hotel room- I am sure that makes a difference.

Around here it's at least 80. More if you have long hair.

In a salon I'd say anywhere from $40-80

On location, $75-125.

PS - I actually do on location hair and makeup for weddings, and I charge $75 for just hair, $139 for hair+makeup. This is a fair price in my area, not dirt cheap but not as expensive as some others.

I think you're paying through the nose because she's coming to the hotel room. It's been a long time since I got an updo at a salon, but I'd take a stab at $50-60

Here it is around $150 if they come to the room. My SIL had one come to the room and the girls that wanted to pay that much had their hair done in the room. I had mine done at Mastercuts for $65.00.

It is usually more when they come to you.  For the weddings I have been in it has rund $65 to $125 for bridesmaids where they came to suite.  I have never gotten an up-do, but I get blowouts at salon for a lot of events and they run $40-$75.

I'm guessing $75 - 100.  I never pay to have this done when I've been in weddings.  Seriously have to draw the line somewhere.

I was going to say $30-35 for my area, but the COL is really cheap.
