Is this a diaper fit issue or just a massive poop?

I almost prefaced this with TMI but then I realized it's an entire board devoted to poop & pee so here goes:

We've been CDing for a short time and haven't had any leaks of the poo variety.  DS has even had what I would consider to be large poops and they stayed in.  But yesterday his poop leaked a ton out the leg holes between his legs.  It was a pasty/chunky poop (you're welcome) and was so big that I'm sure a regular disposable would have had trouble handling it.  Do I just chalk that up to a massive dump or do you think I need to tighten the leg holes?  Also I was holding him while he pooped so I'm wondering if our position might have be part of the leak problem.  Any insight?

You might have helped to squish it out, because I'm guessing you were holding him under his bum. DH did that once and it was hilarious. Poop everywhere! I wouldn't worry about it. Some messes are just going to get out. Just think of how awful it would have been in a disposable if it was that bad in cloth.

DS traumatized me with a poop like that once in the car seat. Where his pants legs filled with poop & that was in a disposable, We went up a size after that i think it was a massive poop that had no where else to go so escaped the leg holes. I know that doesn't help you much but unless it happens again id chalk it up to just being a massive poop.
