Would love your opinions. Girl names are so hard.

  • I like Clare.
It reminds me of The Time Travellers Wife.
If you knew better, you'd do better.
  • Clarice... Call her Claire.
  • Clare. Or a longer El- name with the NN Ellie, but not just Ellie itself.

    This.

    Yep, me too.

  • I'm partial to Alexa because it is my niece's name and she is an adorable baby genius!  She's not even 2, but I'd put money on the fact that she could pass a preschool screening.  She has the vocabulary and the intelligence of a 4 year old.  I've never seen anything like it, so I have a particularly GOOD association with the name Alexa.  Clare, I'm just not fond of at all and Ellie bugs me.  It's funny that I say that, too, because I really wanted to name my daughter Elle - until I told a friend and then SHE named her daughter Elle!  I still really love the name Elle, but with all the El names that get shortened to Ellie, they're a dime a dozen.  I wouldn't mind Ellie for a nickname to be used sometimes, but I would not want my daughter to be known as Ellie.

  • Claire.

Alexa reminds me of a stripper name. Ellie is just far too popular as a diminutive of many, many names.

  • I like Ellie but it sounds like a NN to me.  I sure don't picture a 30 year old woman when I hear that name.  What about Elle or Ella?

Alexa sounds "stripperish" to me. Sorry.

Claire is a great name. And I chose that spelling so she doesn't have to say: "It's 'Claire,' without the I."

Totally didn't think about Alexa sounding "stripperish" but now that you mention it I can see that.
