Just wondering if you are setting up baby gear before baby arrives? Or are you waiting until baby is home?
I.e. stroller, baby bouncer, swings, etc.
We have the nursery ready, furniture set up, baby blankets and clothes washed, everything organized and in its spot. We live in a condo, so we are waiting until baby is here before we take the stroller out of the box, set up the bouncer chair, activity mat, etc.
Are you waiting or is your house already 100% baby ready?

Re: Are you setting up baby gear before baby arrives?
Work's been busy and I've been traveling a lot so I haven't had time to do much. My shower was this past Saturday but I had to leave yesterday morning for another trip so we basically just shoved the gifts in the baby's room until we have time to sort through them. The crib, dresser, and glider are being delivered the beginning of next week, though, so I'll have to clear out the room before than. Other than that, we'll at least put together the stroller and pack n play before going to the hospital. If the rest isn't put together by then, I'm not too concerned considering they're not necessities for the first week or two that the baby's home.
wow! You're super organized to already have the potty and highchair! We aren't buying these until baby is big enough to use them...he's our 2nd baby but with a 7year gap, so we are starting from scratch with baby items.
I kinda feel like I should be setting up some of the gear after reading everyone's posts about being prepared! Guess hubby has a to-do list this weekend
We have a cat and dog that are super curious, so we're setting stuff up (bouncer, swing) and leaving it out around 36 weeks to get them used to it. I fear that if I take it right out of the box and put LO in it, they'll be freaked out by the item or its smell or something and want to inspect it with LO in it.
Same here. Everything is set up besides the bassinet, which I'm hoping we get set up this week so the dogs can get used to it being in the room.
all i have set up is the pack n play (which DD will be sleeping in in our bedroom until we move in July). i set it up as soon as it arrived a few weeks ago because hubby and i were excited, and we had to figure out exactly where we wanted it anyway.
i don't actually have anything else...
my parents are visiting a few days after my daughter is born and they will bring a hand-me-down rock n play. i registered for a swing that i may or may not get.
we won't be buying a crib or changing table until we move into a bigger place in a few months, so there really isn't much to set up.
i'm more concerned about having all the toiletry-type items and enough clothes that i'm not constantly doing laundry. oh, and diapers. i'm sure i need more diapers.
We are setting up as much as possible for the same reason.
I have everything set up, for the most part.
I remember coming home with my DD, and I needed to put her down for minute, and I was like "Where do I put her?!?" Just thinking back about that made me laugh. So I'd definitely have a swing or bouncer or something set up where you feel comfortable placing baby if you need both of your hands. Eventually, of course, I'd just put her on a blanket on the floor, etc., but it felt so foreign and odd to do that with a 2-day old!
I haven't set up my nursery, either, but i plan on having everything we will definitely use all ready to go.
Some advice from my cousin, though: DON'T wash all your clothes right away. There's no telling exactly what size your LO is going to need, so just have some onesies washed and ready to go until you know their sizing for sure. My cousin washed everything right away and had it all ready to go, but her baby grew so fast that her LO didn't even wear all of the clothes she had taken the tags off and washed. She could have returned the ones he didn't wear for a bigger size, but instead she's stuck with the unreturnable clothes that were never worn.
