LO normally wears a fitted diaper for overnights...
When he wakes in the AM - sometimes there is a very strong ammonia smell... the diaper has been on him for 10+ hours.
Normal? or No?
I feel like its normal, since the diaper is on him for so long, but really, I have no idea....
Re: Stinkies and Overnight diapers
We had bad ammonia in our overnnight diapers. I played around with our wash routine and tried different detergents. Finally found something that worked for us and haven't had a hint of stink since!
So for us, it wan't normal. Something was causing the ammonia stink, I just had to figure out how to fix it.

This. In my case, switching fabrics helped -- I now use Zorb II exclusively overnight, rather than bamboo. I *can* use bamboo, but it does get ammonia-stinky after a few months and then I have to bleach and strip. It's easier to just use Zorb II.
Also, my kids have both gotten ammonia burns from their overnight diapers. That is not normal, and really sucks. So I take even a whiff of ammonia very seriously, so I can deal with it before it gets that bad.
