So years ago before we even got married, I told DH that my favorite names for future children were Jack and Lily. I also liked a few others, but he wasn't a fan of them and agreed he liked Jack and Lily too. Fast forward to BFP and Jack and Lily were still our names. At 20 week a/s we find out it's a boy! So there we go, Jack it is. Not so fast, a few weeks later after we've been working on middle names (Jack Thomas- after his dad, Jack James-after my dad, Jack Easton- because DH is a huge baseball fan and apparently that company makes bats), DH says he's not so sure about Jack! What!? That's been the name for years! I've been calling him that and told others that's his name! So I ask DH what else he has in mind and he likes Ronin, Clint (though not with mn Easton), and Ramsey. I'm just not a fan of any of those. So it's been a few weeks of both of us throwing out names and we can't seem to agree on anything. I like more traditional names: Jack, Michael, Matthew, Nicholas, etc. And he likes more unique names. He has a pretty unique name himself and liked that he was the only one with it. He doesn't like Jack because he feels it's too common. As a teacher, it seems to me like the more unique names are most popular now. In a school of 600+ kids, we have one Jack, but several Declans (a name I had never heard before). We're looking at books and websites, but still no luck, so I'm throwing it out there to all of you and would love some suggestions. TIA
Re: Need a boy name
I think Jack/Jackson/Jaxon/Jaxton, etc. are so incredibly popular that maybe they just haven't worked their way into your school yet. I have 4 good friends that have Jacks (age 3 and under). I probably know 5 other FB friends with baby Jacks. I'm not really a fan of your DH's choices, although Ronin would probably be the best of the bunch. Here is a list of my favorites, maybe something will spark your interest:
Reed (DS)
Pierce (DS)
Dean
Grant
Brooks
Noel
Miles/Milo
Samuel (Sam)
Amos
Silas
Benjamin (Ben)
