J & J Baby Shampoo

I just saw a natural line of J & J baby shampoo in Target.  I compared that label to the regular J & J label and the natural line doesn't have the quantum 15 listed as an ingredient.  Has anyone else seen this?  It would be great if it is true.

Re: J & J Baby Shampoo

  • I'm assuming this is their natural line and it doesn't have the quantum 15 in the formula.  It has to be listed in the ingredients if it's in the ingredients.

  • We've used the kid version. It's not my favorite because by buying it I'm still supporting their products I don't like, but it's my "if I have to buy shampoo at kroger" option.

  • I had been debating using their shampoo, the cost of the alternatives being the major issue, and now  I am thinking of switching between the J & J natural line and the Burt Bee's line as a compromise.  Anyone know of any downsides of alternating brands?

  • What is the story with J & J? What is quantum 15? I tried googling it and nothing came up.

I don't think there is any downside. As far as cost difference, we use California Baby Super Sensitive on DS and while it costs a lot more than J&J, it lasts FOREVER. Target usually ends up sending me coupons for it too, since I get their emails. It's nice because DS has sensitive skin and he's never had a problem with the CA Baby.

I refuse to use any of their products because I think they are a horrible company. We use either Burt's Bees or California Baby.

Ditto this.  Except we sometimes use Shea Organics as well.

  • Just like anything else ppl have been using forever of course they have someone who has an issue and turns it into something huge. My parents used Johnson's, and I have and still do with my daughters. I plan on using it for our baby also. Unless you are going the all natural route by making your own soap as I do Johnson's is as safe as it always has been.

  • They have also found most brands of apple juice have trace amounts of arsenic, Gerber being the worst. While I won't be buying Gerber apple juice, I'm not going to cut out apple juice completely. Use the new Johnson's that has the harmful chemical removed, or don't use it at all. It's all a personal preference.

This is us too. I bought the large bottle when DD was about 2 wks old because she broke out from J&J. We just cracked open a new bottle about a month ago. So it did cost me about $20 but it lasted for 2 years!
