Doula in VA/TN
Hi everyone!
My name is Lynette and I am a Labor Doula. I service Southwest VA and Northeast TN. I have 5 of my own children - 4 natural and 1 C-section.
Having a doula with you during your labor and delivery is one of the best things you can do for yourself, your baby, your husband or partner, and the nursing staff! Doulas are knowledgeable and experienced in childbirth and can give you support and information to help you make decisions. We can tend to your needs and give your husband or partner (if you have one) ideas of how he can help you as well. If you do not have a partner to accompany you to the hospital, a doula can take on that role as well.
Giving birth is one of the most difficult but wonderful things you will ever do in your lifetime. Why wouldn't you want a lot of support emotionally & physically? While your partner is rubbing your back, a doula can be rubbing your feet. A doula can offer suggestions to help you get more comfortable or to help your labor progress without the need for medications or a C-section.
