Is there really anything to be done if you twist your ankle? I fell yesterday (ironically on my way to my last u/s!) and twisted my ankle, then walking down the street today, did it again (didn't fall, just stumbled on a bad sidewalk). Hurt like crazy.
But.... it's not swollen, not black & blue. Just sore when I bend it in certain directions, but can walk w/o pain.
I don't know that I feel like bothering going to the doctor w/ this.... I'm wearing a brace for extra support. Is there really anything else to be done?
Re: NBR: twisted ankle
RICE it. Rest, ice, compress and elevate. That's really the best things to do for a twist or sprain. If you actually tore a ligament you'd need to go to a doctor for repair, but otherwise they'll probably just tell you to RICE it and it'll take care of itself.
I have crappy ankles. I have twisted and sprained them many times and as such my ligaments are stretched which makes me more prone to hurting them again, so you have my sympathies.
