Liam loves edamame. It's pretty much the only green thing he'll eat right now and it's a good protein source for him since he doesn't eat meat at all.
I know that there are concerns about plant estrogens and such when it comes to soy. So, how much is too much? Should he have it once or twice a week, max?

I've just heard conflicting info. I've read stuff that states what you said about women and breast cancer but I've also read stuff that indicates that too many phytoestrogens can affect hormone levels in general. I think it's one of those cases of there is too much info out there and no one really knows the answer so I thought I'd ask here to see what others thought. It's probably fine but new food guidelines come out all the time it's hard to keep track!
I think I remember reading that soy is really only an issue when you are taking the typical American meat-centric diet and replacing everything with soy products. But don't quote me on that.
I gave my LOs lima beans the other day and told the 3 year old he'd love them because they taste just like edamame, and he gobbled them up and asked for more. That might be another idea for you.
