I'm going to see if I can get my detergent from the local Target/stores before I head the "fancy" RG route or something. (most of my stash is pre-owned, so claims "I always washed in RG!" for resale purposes won't be true anyways)
We have a Kenmore HE front loader washer.
Brand and quantity most appreciate, thanks!
Re: best store-bought detergent to start with? (HE washer)
They actually don't make Tide Original anymore -- the closest thing to it is Tide Ultra (original scent). I would stay away from any scented varieties.
I've seen the Publix free & clear liquid on CD safe lists before. We use Ecos free & clear, which I've seen more and more regular stores carrying lately.
Have not tested the diapers on baby yet but they seem clean, well prepped, and I dont see any signs of buildup or other ickys.
thanks everyone.
I see a lot of powders being used. Are liquids a no-no?
A lot of liquids are petroleum based -- that's what keeps them in their liquid form. Petroleums in the detergents can lead to coating of the diapers & repelling. We have an older septic tank, so I choose not to use powdered detergent. The Ecos free & clear liquid we use is petroleum-free, so I don't worry about it.
