If you are wearing a brown top, will you wear black shoes? Vice versa? What about for your LO? My sister taught me growing up that you can't mix brown and black, but I brought it up to some of my mom friends today and they thought I was crazy. What do ya'll think?
Re: s/o fashion...
Haha, exactly! My sister has made me crazy about it!
Oops! Yesterday I wore brown pants and black shoes. I just don't have brown shoes that fit because I haven't gone shoe-shopping since L was born and I only have 3 pairs that fit me... 2 pairs of black shoes and 1 pair of running shoes.
However, I do have a purse that is a mixture of black and brown, so if I'm mixing colors I'll carry that purse so it looks like I'm really coordinated.

Oh no, OSC!!! At my last job (the restaurant) I always wore brown pants with black shoes. Today I am meeting a friend at the mall, so I will be on the lookout for a pair of black dress pants (to go with my black shoes) and a pair of brown shoes (to go with my brown dress pants).
Here's a thought... what do you wear with navy?
For the record I don't wear brown because I think that it looks hideous on me, so this is probably moot.
I feel that black shoes go with everything, although yeah they look kind of bad with Navy and Brown slacks. Black belt with brown pants is a no no, as are brown shoes with black pants.

Make a change, ASAP! I'm the lowest-maintenence woman I know, I think... but mixing brown and black is like nails on a chalk board to me. When you are wearing navy you should always wear brown (unless the top has both navy and black in it). It's definitely not as strict a rule as brown and black, though... some people could probably throw together an awesome blue and black outfit and I wouldn't call them rule breakers.
Definitely! Black and navy do not go together either! haha And for the record- I don't buy clothes that have brown and black mixed together. It bugs me that much lol
See, I guess I'm not the fashion go-to source because I think navy goes better with black than brown. Navy + brown doesn't make sense to me. But I also just don't wear navy period, haha.
I've always mixed brown and black and no ones ever said anything to me. I was actually asking a coworker about this last week and she says she knows its a faux pas too yet she does it all the time.
I could care less about what Griff wears lol. Sometimes hes wearing green pants and an orange top!
