Question for City Moms

I am planning a trip to Boston with my 20 month-old.  How does it work with the car seat and a taxi?  Do I need to use the car seat every time we take a cab somewhere?  And how about on the subway (or T)?  I am on the west coast where we drive our own cars everywhere so I'm trying to wrap my head around lugging around a car seat and stroller while we're out and about.  TIA

Re: Question for City Moms

  • Yeah, you don't need a car seat in a cab (though I personally would use one for a longer trip - like from the airport, or take public transportation instead). Do you have an umbrella stroller, or use a baby carrier? I personally think a baby carrier is the easiest on public transportation, I used a Becco Butterfly with my older son until he was well past two. The baby backpack/harness things are good, too. hth
