Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Newborn slept 7 hours..ok???

Lo is a month old. Occasionally she sleeps up to 5 hours before first wake up at night. Last night it was 7 hubby had her in the Boppy on the bed. Changed her diaper and just pee after waking. (she breastfed before going to sleep)

  • I have heard that once they regain their birth weight they can sleep through the night without you having to wake them to eat.  Charlie sleeps for 6 hours at a time and he is only 3 weeks old, so I hope it's okay!

  • I am so jealous! Our pedi said that once DS reaches his birth weight to let him sleep as long as he wants.

  • I just saw a lactation consultant yesterday. Her advice to me was "Never wake a sleeping baby - that IS gaining weight". If your LO is gaining - no worries. Let her sleep and enjoy those extra hours yourself.

My family is a Foreign Service family. Families like mine are posted in every corner of the globe. We live our lives away from family, friends and the conviences and comforts of home. We often live and work in dangerous places among those that misunderstand our intentions and purposes. Sometimes members of our ranks sacrifice our lives to further diplomacy.  Please remember that we serve too. And I'm always open to questions.

  • LO had trouble waking at all to eat in the hosp so we practically had to  to shake the baby to wake him. now that hes back to birth wt we just let him sleep and enjoy every peaceful minute of it! :)

  • So jealous!!  The longest mine has gone is 4 hours and that has been during the day.  I can't wait.  The good news is she goes back to sleep after each feeding until sometime between 10:30-1 so I sleep in with her.

  • You really shouldn't be letting her sleep in the boppy. If you notice, it has a tag on the side that explains the suffocation hazard.

My pedi recommended sleeping in the boppy for my LO because of her reflex.  She's slipped down, but never under it before.

To OP, congrats on the sleep.
