After almost 16 months of no sleep I had 8 glorious hours of sleep 2 nights in a row! We've very slowly been weaning (and are finally done) and it seems like that was the only reason he was waking up at night.
He is still going to bed at 730pm without a problem, I let him cio the first couple of nights during his middle of the night wakings, and now they are gone. He slept until 6am yesterday and then until 7 this morning. YAY!!
Sorry to be a total AW, but I can not put into words how good it feels to sleep without interruption. He hasn't nursed since 430am on Saturday, and while I'm a little sad to be done with that chapter, I am so thrilled we are all sleeping, and happy to have my body back to myself : )
Re: Finally STTN (thanks to weaning)
Yay!! Congrats!
I kept thinking my DD would grow out of the middle of the night wakings, but it looks like we might have to wean before I can be done with those, too.

Unfortunately it got to the point that I just knew he would be waking up until I weaned. We had let him CIO for middle of the night wakings before, and he sttn for maybe a week. Then he got sick (or insert any other problem that could possibly happen) and was back to his old shenanigans.
I'd slowly been cutting out sessions for over 2 months, but he was just waking up and using those sessions that he missed out on during the day as his little comfort during the night. I decided to be a little more aggressive in my weaning approach and I'm so happy that I did.

That sounds like what I'm thinking is going on with us, too. I think I'll need to put my foot down and follow in your footsteps before long.
Did he take wcm in a sippy before? My DD won't touch it, so I worry about going cold turkey. May just have to bite the bullet.
