cervical cerclage

I'm 19 weeks pregnant and will receive a cerclage on Thursday. my cervix is measuring 2.1_2.2. anyone have any past experience on what to expect? my dr seems to think i will be able to do some activities and i definitely wont be on bed rest. i wil have to rest often though.

I have had 2 cerclages this pregnancy...dont get freaked out tho...my first one was at 12 weeks and i have a very weak cervix ....i recently just had a 2nd emergency cerclage at 21 weeks...

I was on bedrest obviously and the goal is with the cerclage it should allow you to continue daily activites...but please done rule out bedrest...your doctor should be checking your cervix every 2 weeks after...it may get better it may not ... its just how the body reacts...but ive come accross several stories the cerclage did wonders for them...just be opened minded...

as far as the cerclage the worst part was the spinal....the procedure didnt hurt, and i had no bleeding or cramping ... it was a great procedure done...it was just my cervix is weak....

but i wish you so much luck...just try and relax but believe me i know how hard it is...and yes try and take it easy as much as you can....less pressure on cervix the better

I have had a cerclage with both pregnancies. I was able to resume normal activity afterwards with no problem. It did take about 5 to 6 hours for the spinal to wear off though so make sure you have no plans for the rest of the day. The procedure itself was a piece of cake. I carried my first to 39.5 weeks and am praying for another healthy pregnancy and baby. Good luck!
