Giving Medicine!!!

When my son was a few months old he took medicine well, of course because he really didn't know the taste. Now he has a cold and giving medicine is hard. He knows now when he sees the droppler that it's medicine time and he jsut flips and refuses. Last night we give him half of the dose and the other half we kind of just shot it in there and he threw it up. What ways are there to give him medicine without having to go through so much trouble?
