EPers- how many ounces per day?

I'm curious to know what other EPers are pumping in one day. I think im doing so much better this time that Im building a small freezer stash. I yield about 45 ounces per day. I hope my supply won't tank too much when I head back to work in a month or so. Thanks for sharing!

Re: EPers- how many ounces per day?

  • I was getting 40-50 ounces a day, and now I get 25-30, which is barely enough to cover DS's appetite.  I've had to dip into my frozen stash.  I think going back to work and the return of AF (which literally JUST started this afternoon) have killed my supply.  I've tried upping my Fenugreek, but it isn't working.

  • I am getting around 45 oz also.  I have quite a freezer stash, though I'm hoping never to have to use it and that my supply will stay up.  I'm nervous about returning my hospital pump in a few weeks though and going back to my PISA and about going to work next week.

  • If you don't mind me asking, has your supply always been that plentiful? I've been pumping since the night my boys were born almost 1 month ago and while my supply is increasing it is still nowhere near where I want it to be; I'm still counting in MLs. I had an emergency c/s and post delivery complications and wound up on meds that have obviously not helped it. I'm struggling but am trying to keep it up.

  • I have low supply.  I pump about 5x a day and get about 17 to 20 ounces total.

  • I have been getting 50-55 oz/ day, but I just dropped down to 6 pumpings a day this week.  So far my supply hasn't changed, but I expect it will drop a little.

  • I get right at 30 oz a day and I pump 6x's which is just enough to cover the 28 ozs a day she eats. I am able to freeze some each day though because 2 of her 7 feedings are formula until her doctor thinks she has gained enough weight.

For me, I have always had a pretty good supply.  I have a hospital-grade pump and pumped every 2-3 hours for at least 20 minutes for the first few weeks.  I heard too many supply-issue stories on here and wanted to make sure I started out on the right foot.  But I only have one to feed, so I would imagine 2 would be especially tough!

  • I'm envious of ya'll!!!  I'm only pumping about 10-12oz/day ;*o(  Things are getting a little better since I switched pumps back to a Lactina Rental from a PIS, but I still need to work on re- establishing a supply...  I am in so many ways wishing I'd known that this place locally would have a rental Lactina (most of the places the hospital recommended only rent Symphony pumps and I don't respond as well to that style of pump) and I would have used it from the start...

Simply to say that most of DS's feedings are formula based but I do notice that when he has an all formula or all breastmilk bottle his little tummy responds strangely - like he gets an over-run on gas, go figure!
