Did you use it with your infant carseats from the get-go? Car seat adapters look to have bad reviews...wondering if I should just start with snap n go (which I think would also be cheaper!)
TIA!
Depending on the weather, I did use it right away for walks around the neighborhood. I live in a city, so the Snap n Go would have worked, but would not have been as smooth for regular walks. If it was cold, I used the carseat because I felt like he was bundled up. When it was hot out, I used the bassinet because I was afraid of him getting too hot.
I don't think you can use it with two bassinets and I think newborns are a little too small for the seat. I waited until about 4-5 months before we used the seat. The bassinet uses a seat frame when it's put together, so it's not super easy to just switch between bassinet and chair.

I bought the car seat adapters from the start and love, love, LOVE them! We have used them and loved them daily for almost 6 months! It makes going places a breeze even if it's just me. It handles great in tight places, folds easily and has a huge basket underneath which makes grocery shopping (or any shopping) possible by myself and the twins. I seriously feel like it's my lifeline to the rest of the world and out of isolation.

We used ours. Like PP mentioned it is a very smooth ride. We bought 2 bassinets also for very long walks. At first we would put them in the same bassinet and our toddler would sit in the seat. Now they are both bigger, they are each in their own bassinets and love it. (The bassinets are also very handy if you take your babies to visit other's, they can sleep in them without the stroller and you can move them from room to room easily with the handle=)
Like I mentioned, we bought the other accessories for our Select so they could start using it when they were newborns, so the snap and go would have been an extra expense for a stroller we did not really need.
I had a snap and go with my first son, and we loved it, so if you want to go simple and avoid buying extra accessories, I would go with the snap and go!
I didn't have my select when my boys were in infant seats (it didn't come out until they were 6mo old)... but i would have LOVED it with the infant seats - such a nice ride, that you won't get with a DSNG.
IMO the bassinets are not worth it since you can use the regular seats on full recline with an infant if they will be in the stroller for a long time and you don't want to use the infant seats - so if money is tight- you can skip those easily.... but i'd get the carseat adapters for sure - it's one of the great benefits of that stroller... having a DSNG that rides great and isn't super long.
I used to be Goldie_locks_5 but the new nest is so screwed up that I was forced to start over.
I had a DSNG for the first month and then we purchased the BJCS. We got the car seat adapters and once I started using it I permanently ditched the DSNG. The BJCS steers soooo much better than the DSNG. The basket was much easier to use too.
We didnt bother with the bassinets and like Goldie said you can just put the seats fully reclined and they can lay in them. We did this for longer walks!
The BJCS has been my only double stroller since they were a month and I have used it every day.. for daycare pick up and drop offs, errands, etc. I love it!!
We went around and around about whether to buy the car seat adapters for our City Select, versus buying a used DSNG. They seemed awfully expensive for a fairly simple setup. I think they're overpriced, but I like the versatility they lend to our stroller. We do enjoy our City Select. It's a great and agile stroller, with a nice tight turn radius and smooth handling.
If you can find a used car seat adapter, that's one way to go; we found a (not really) used one on clearance at Baby Earth. Be careful that you get the right one for your stroller, though. It took us a couple of tries on amazon.com to get the one for the City Select.
(I'm local to you, so I'm kind of tempted to offer to sell my adapters to you, but my kiddos are four months old and may still be using them when yours are born...)
