Second birthday presents...

I know the family will start asking real soon- if anyone asks you what are you thinking your 2 year old wants/needs for 2nd bday?

she needs clothes for summer (bday is in april). she does not need toys but we got her a water table for outside (and when inside it will be a sensory table).

Some of the things I was thinking of so far are a tricycle with push bar, a little table and chairs and memberships to childrens museums, zoo, aquarium, etc...  I need smaller ideas too.

good ideas! (lo got a table/chairs for xmas and has a handme down trike). i love the membership idea.

what about puzzles? art easel?

I actually made an amazon wish list and when people asked me I would send it to them - everyone said it was so much easier - I did this for Xmas also.  We have a huge family and a small house so duplicate gifts dont work   Hope this helps!

I think his big gift will be a balance bike.  

Cooking with Kids book, step stool for the kitchen, play dough (always a favorite), a helmet to go with the tricycle, art supplies, lego duplo blocks, train set

Do you think a swing set is too old for a 2 year old?  I really want to fence off the back yard and get a swing set for her since we'll be having baby #2 in May. I won't be able to take as many trips to the local park and I won't be able to run after her while caring for a NB.

he actually needs clothes, for the first time in his life.

wooden puzzles are a great gift right now

for a big gift,I'd be thrilled if one of the grandparents gave us the tripp trapp high chair.

My grandma is getting her a nice play kitchen for her birthday and we are telling anyone who asks to get her food items/dishes/aprons/etc. for it.  We figure that her kitchen will be fully stocked and all new toys will be easily contained!

This past Fall we prepped our backyard for a swingset and sandbox that will be put in this Spring. So for his birthday we are buying:

- sand toys

- balance bike

- basketball hoop

- Muzzy for Spanish (two is when he will start learning a second language.  He has been learning sign language since he was 3 months).

We will probably tell family to get more food for his play kitchen which he got at Christmas, sand toys and educational toys or money for his savings account.
