I have a little fussy one on my hands, and after trying every possible thing to get him to stop fussing, I think I am starting to believe he is just a fussy baby, anyone else dealing with this?
DD is extra fussy, but it's due to gas. We've tried mylicon drops, bicycling and pumping her legs, and the 5 S technique from Dr. Karp. Check youtube for the video on this, it may help you out. I've decided to cut dairy from my diet since we are ebf and see if that helps my LO.

Ditto this! My little guy is super gassy! I'm hoping it's a phase that doesn't last too long
I've got a gassy baby on my hands as well. We are EBF too, but we haven't cut anything out yet, although I may be noticing a pattern with tomatoes so that might be on the list soon. We bicycling her legs and burp her leaning forward. I also keep her upright after eating, but sometimes she's just whimpery. Generally this means she gets held a lot so it's a good thing we are all about the slings and carriers. I don't know how it will go when we bring her to daycare, but for now this is working for us.
Try to find those sweet moments to remember how great your baby is. For us, that's right away in the morning.
Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!
Mine has really bad reflux, but I also think sometimes his fussing is just normal fussing and not reflux related. I go through the checklist until something works:
- Hungry?
- Needs a new diaper?
- Lights too bright (he really hates bright lights)
- Hot/Cold?
-Gas?
- Reflux/heartburn pain? (this is the worst and I just have to ride it out. Occasionally I can keep it from escalating w/ bicycle legs, simethicone, holding him upright, etc).
- Wants to be held? He loves hanging out over my shoulder in the burping position or on my chest.
- Over tired or over stimulated?
If none of the above seem to apply, I try the following:
DS#1 was just a fussy kid. I spent most of his first year worrying I wasn't producing enough milk, which was making him miserable. However, he was a fussy baby (ALWAYS needing to be held), a whiney infant and a demanding toddler. It got a bit easier once he could communicate with me.
Now, he's incredible (although still demanding). So, with this baby I'm just taking it as it comes and not worrying so much.

- Binky
- Put on music
- walk around the house with him
- Skin to skin
- Put him in his swing
- Put him in car seat and rock it back and forth
- Hand him over to my husband (if he's home).
