Femara and Menopur for Egg Quality?

Hi Ladies!

I have introduced myself a few times in the past 18 mos, but sleepless nights and an overloaded schedule keep preventing me from being more than a lurker. But you guys give the best advice and I haven't found a group of women who give kinder, more intelligent and thoughtful responses! I'm a big fan.

We have been TTC since my daughter was a few months old, though I didn't have much hope since we had to do IVF the first time. We were very lucky that it worked since only 2 of 13 eggs fertilized. I just saw a doctor at a new practice who has me on Femera and Menopur, saying it is supposed to help egg quality. I'm also on a high dose of antioxidants. Has anyone heard of this theory or had success with that combo? He also thinks I was hyperstimulated before, which supposedly could have been a big part of the problem.

Has anyone had really bad headaches with Femara?

I've never been on Femara, but my RE uses Menopur to improve egg quality. The IVF cycle that brought us our son produced embryos that were few in quantity but very good quality. Good luck to you!!

I'm not doing IVF, but I'm in a Femara-menopur-IUI cycle now, and so is my friend.  She gets headaches from Femara, but I don't.  Good luck!
