Baby Names

Votes and Thoughts

We are not telling anyone our baby girl's name until she is born but I want to get some feedback on these two names that we have both agreed on:

Natalie Mariah S. - Love Natalie, don't like that it is pretty popular

Mariah Elizabeth S. - Love Mariah, don't like that we are Americans living in a Spanish speaking country so most people will call her Maria.

We would love to get some more feedback.  Thank you!

Re: Votes and Thoughts

  • natalie all the way. i don't like mariah very much. if anyone thinks it's maria and not mariah then IMO they're dumb haha. i only know 2 natalies.

  • I think they are both nice.

Maria, instead of Mariah never crossed my mind...It seemed pretty clear with the popularity of American pop singer....

  • I vote Natalie Mariah. I don't think Natalie is overwhelmingly popular. Also, even if it is more on the popular side, it's not one of those trendy popular sounding names. I'd also go with Natalie over Mariah, if you are thinking she would get called Maria often.

Excuse me?! Perhaps you don't understand that other languages pronounce letters/words differently and have a different phonetic system. I'm sorry, but your comment is ridiculous and close-minded.

    OP, I prefer Natalie.

  • I'd go with Mariah nonetheless.

I don't think what she said is close-minded at all. I think that it is very easy to tell the difference between Maria & Mariah. Whether you speak spanish or not. I don't think she meant anything against anyone.
  • I definitely prefer Natalie.  I don't think it's popular at all.

  • I love the name Natalie - it's on my short list. It's one of those names that is supposedly popular, but of all the hundreds of babies born to friends and acquaintances over the past few years, I am yet to hear of one Natalie.

Not really a fan of Mariah.

  • I like both names, but I think I prefer Natalie.

  • Not a huge fan of either - I'd vote for Natalie though.

    Good luck choosing.

  • I love Natalie. I think Natalie Elizabeth sounds better than Natalie Mariah though.
  • I love Natalie :)
