2nd Trimester

19 Week Movement?

I seem to remember a lot more movement with DS - stronger and more frequent kicks. Maybe I'm just remembering 3rd tri. How often can you feel LO? Is it still just flutters? Do you have to lay very still and focus?

Re: 19 Week Movement?

  • When I first started feeling her a couple weeks ago, it was when I'd lay down to sleep and I could barely feel a flutter. Within a week she started moving around a lot more during the day and to the point where you can definitely tell it's her. I think it's funniest when I go to a horror movie and she gets super excited... definitely gonna be a horror buff like mom.

  • I started feeling the baby kick at 18 weeks, but it was pretty light and I had to be paying attention to really feel it.  In the past week I have felt the kicks get stronger and more common.  I have felt them everyday since I hit 18 weeks.

  • I just posted about this too.  I have anterior placenta and I really don't feel much movement.  I started getting very faint flutters/taps around 15 weeks but they have not increased in frequency or strength.

I usually do feel it when I'm laying still at night after eating, and paying attention to it.  Sometimes after eating I feel like I have gas pains, but then I don't feel the need to pass gas - not sure if this is baby or what!

  • I felt flutters with this pregnancy at the beginning of the 2nd trimester.  I now feel full blown kicks and DH has felt her too.  I felt DS pretty early too, but not this early. Could you have an anterior placenta?

  • I feel exactly the same way!  With DS1 by this time I was feeling big kicks (I think, my husband says I  dont have the best memory when it comes to this stuff- i of course think he's wrong) But this time I am almost 19 weeks and I "kind of" feel movement "sometimes" It is making me nervous, but the HR is good.  We have our US next Thursday so I am eager for that.  Good luck to you- I know what you're going through, but I am sure we will both be feeling lots of movement soon.  I keep reminding myself - every baby is different.
