2nd Trimester

anyone still have morning sickness?

Hi Everyone- I typically post on PGAL, but thought I would pop over here to see how everyone else is doing with morning sickness/if anyone else is still experiencing...and if you had morning sickness into your second tri...when/if it went away.

I am 17 weeks today and my morning sickness seems to be worse than it has been. I have had it since about 5 weeks.  Anyone else had a similar experience?  Does this mean I am destined to have morning sickness my entire pregnancy?

Thanks for your input!

Re: anyone still have morning sickness?

  • Hey, I'm 18 weeks tomorrow.  I still have morning sickness on occasion.

I didn't even have it bad that bad in the 1st trimester, so I thought for sure it would be all gone now.

You might find that your morning sickness settles down in a few weeks.  Good luck.

  • Dunno when it's gonna go away for us, but yeah, definitely still there with you. It's easier to deal with it having had it so long, but my doc is getting frustrated that I've still lost 10 lbs instead of gaining any. *sigh*

  • Ill be 20 weeks tomorrow and my morning sickness is still bad. Im on meds but its not helping. I've lost 18 lbs( slightly overweight prior) and my dr too is getting pissed but there is nothing I can do about it. Some days are worse then others. I've started to notice patterns... If I dont eat and get to the starving point and then eat... I get sick. So I've been trying to eat health snacks all day long... still sick but helps some!

    Good Luck!

  • I still have it- but mine is pretty bad.  I was prescribed zofran.

  • I don't post much but I am still sick.  With my first I felt better around 26 weeks.  Even though each pregnancy is different, I'm not expecting to feel better anytime soon.  I was just thinking this morning how lucky I am to have my health (in general when I'm not pregnant).  I know that this will end eventually and its for a very good reason.  Its hard to remember that when your head is in the toilet.  I hope you feel better soon!

  • I am still sick too.  Its not just morning sickness. Its all day sickness.  I am on Zofran and although it makes me not vomit so much, I still feel like I am going to throw up all day.  I called my doctor today to get a refill for my Zofran and the nurse was not very nice about it.  She told me I should not be sick anymore and that the doctor would want me to cut back on the Zofran.  I just about went off on her.  Trust me I would love to not be sick anymore.  Plus I don't really think people are out there abusing Zofran.  I will be 17 weeks tomorrow and I have literally been sick from the time I got my BFP.  Puking my guts out every day for 13 or so weeks does not make for a very nice person.

Ugh! Totally uncool comment from the nurse.  I take phenergan and would like nothing more than to not have to take it....but I need it!   I hope you get some relief soon.

  • thanks for your responses. It is nice to know I am not the only one still sick...it is kind of a lonely feeling. UGH!  I hope you all get a break soon.

  • Yes- I am 20 weeks, and although I am not throwing up all day every day anymore, I still get nauseous every day and throw up a few times a week.  If I don't take my Zofran, or I go too long without eating, I will get sick.  I am usually okay from about 9:30 am-3:30 pm now, so my Dr. has reduced my dosage to 8mg each evening. She said I might be sick the whole pregnancy, and my mom told me to expect it-- she was sick the whole time with me and my 3 siblings!
