Here's the story. I sent DS' agenda to school back in January, and it didn't come back home. DS swears he didn't do anything with it (he's only in JK, and I know kids lie to get out of trouble but after a lot of questioning, his story remains the same, and I believe him). The teacher asked me last week to buy a new agenda ($10). I bought one back in September, so I don't want to buy another one. Yes ladies, I realize it's only $10, but it's more the principal of the thing. So I sent in a notebook (which we use at our school for JK/SK), and the teacher sent me a note saying absolutely not, he needs an agenda. It could just be that I'm being stubbornly hormonal, but I don't think I should have to buy one since they lost it.
Please don't flame me too much!
Re: Tell me if I'm being too hormonal
I don't think you are being irrational. This kind of stuff happens at my DD's school randomly and then they end up finding it later etc. I don't like having to question my daughter about stuff like that and then not get an apology from the teacher once it magically appears. Her school has double standards about stuff that I don't appreciate either. We pay for her field trips, are required to bring snacks for the whole class once a month, and have to pay for supplies etc. They also send her home with a TON of advertisement type things which I don't like either. I love the school for it's "A" ratings it received by the city, but sometimes little things like this can be irritating.. Just bite the bullet and buy the agenda for the $10 and write it off on your taxes lol I don't know if you can do that
Just let them know that you won't be able to purchase another one if they misplace it again. Sorry to not be much help but just let it go this time. I understand teachers pay a lot out of their own pocket for their students and I appreciate that very much so my reply isn't meant to be bashing on the school system whatsoever.
Good Luck!
It's just funny because I'm a teacher too, and I don't really see the big deal about a notebook instead of an agenda. As I said, we use them for JK/SK at my school instead of agendas.
Anyway, thanks ladies for your input. I'll bite the bullet and send in the $10.
It's like a day planner/calendar. I paid $25 in September to cover the cost of the original. I'm not sure why the replacement one is $10.
