DS is 2.5 weeks old and I had plenty of milk up until two days ago. Now my breasts feel much softer and not nearly as full as they did before. DS was nursing consistently every 3 hours until recently, and now he's every 2 and seems to be completely emptying both and could probably eat more if I had it. I am going to schedule an appt with my endo to check my TSH but I suspect I am too low and it's affecting my supply. I also have had chills/ intolerance to cold, dry skin and cracked lips...but it is winter after all.
Anyone else notice a decreased milk supply and need to have their dosage adjusted?
ETA: I am currently treated with a small dosage, but thinking I need to up it now
Re: BFing and hypothyroid -- low milk supply?
I am hypothyroid and my milk supply was low from the beginning. My Dr. put me on a medication that I take 3 times a day. It helps to increase my milk supply. Plus I got my TSH checked and now take a pill for my thyroid once every morning.
Unfortunately I can't EBF because there still isn't enough milk, so I supplement with formula too.
Good luck!

This, except I found out I have it when I was in my early 20s. My endocrinologist dropped my dosage PP and I haven't had any issues.
