LO has a rash. We cannot get rid of his rashes permanently. It sucks. Creams help. On Friday his bottom was almost 100%. Today he pooped while he was sleeping (we didn't know) and his but is a hot mess again. If it was yeast it wouldn't get better at all from a zinc cream, right? Because, it seems to be responding to regular creams right now.
Re: How do you know if it's yeast?
DD's first yeast rash did respond to zinc oxide creams. We were able to heal all of it aside from three red dots. It was our dr that told us it was a yeast rash because of the remaining dots. Yeast rashes have tell tale red satellite lesions.
Ditto PP about lots of naked time, it really is the best thing for any type of diaper rash!

Have you added a couple shakes of baking soda to his bathwater?
My Mom taught me that trick. Works like a charm around here!
We started doing this as well when DD had a horrible diaper rash, now we add to every bath!
