Cough - for a week ?! ugh

I feel so bad for L.  She's had a cold/virus for a week.  It started with a high fever last Sunday/Monday.  Took her to the pedi and they tested her for RSV (negative thank goodness b/c she had it already a month ago).  Took her back to doctor Friday b/c although the fever subsided after about 3 days the cough and constant runny nose just won't stop.  The conjestion has moved into her ears and now she has a ear infection.  My poor boogie hasn't had a good night's sleep in a week.  We started the antibiotics for the ear infection but she doesn't seem all that much better to me.  Anyone else's LO just have this lingering bug?  Hubby and I alternated vacation and personal time last week.. but I only have 2 days left (new job)...  Getting nervous....

Knock on wood.  The last two weeks are the first time C has been cough free in almost 3 months.  I don't know if it was one bug or multiple bugs but he had a cough for better than 8 weeks with a runny nose.  One the fever was gone and the nasal discharge was no longer green he was clear to go back to daycare.  Even though the cough was persistent it really didn't bother him. Good Luck
