question for ladies with tattoo's

I am getting a new tattoo this weekend and while I have the design already I am still trying to figure out where to put it. I have one on my right ankle already as well as a larger one on my left leg (lower leg) I am thinking of putting the new one  on my upper back near my shoulder. Does anyone have one there? Do you like it's position? How big did you make it?  Do you have any suggestions for another area? I want to be able to see it but I don't want to put it on my arms.

How big is it? I personally like tatoos on the back of the neck.  But upper back is nice too.

I have a fairly large tattoo on my left upper back/shoulder. I like it because like the way it looks if I wear something strapless or if I'm a tank top.

The only thing I would say about piecemeal tattoos-  I kind of regret not having mine all planned out in advance.  I love the way some people's tattoos blend together and mine look really pieced-together- there's no flow.  When I get more (after I'm all done with babies/bfing) this is kind of my goal- to get an artist to integrate them so they "blend" more.

It's going to be about the size of a paperback novel so not huge but not super small either. I agree with the piecemeal tattoo not all blending together. Thats kind of the reason I don't want to put it on my legs. I don't think it will be very co-hesive. thanks for the input ladies

I have a tattoo on my upper middle back. It's about the size you described. I like it a lot. I like wearing things to show it off. I think it's a great place to put a tattoo, since I'm not a huge fan of tramp stamps.

Mine is mid upper back below my neck. I love it there because I can hide it or show it.

I have a lot of them all over my body, but yes, I have one on my left shoulder blade area. It's pretty big, but I always say go big or go home.

The more detail in a tattoo, the bigger you're going to want to get it, bc in time your skin loses its elasticity and the line work will bleed a bit, so you don't want the details too close together and end up with mush in 20 years. But an artist, will tell you that anyway.

I have a tattoo on my right shoulder/upper back, but it's only about 4 inches tall - that being said it is part of a much larger whole back tattoo that I'm very slowly working to complete. It's nice to be able to cover it up if I choose or show it off in a tank top or a sundress.
