Unless they actually got dirty...for instance, Alexander spilled prune juice on his wood activity block, and I just used a wet paper towel to wipe it down. If a stuffed animal looks grimy, I throw it in the next load of wash. I have rinsed all of his blocks in the past since he puts those in his
mouth a lot. I just used dish detergent in a bowl of water and then rinsed very
well.
We've just had the stomach flu, double ear infection, colds, and strep throat explode in our house in 2 weeks. I know it's from DC but all these germs have been brought into my house and I just feel like everything needs to be cleaned.
If something gets dirty, I'll wash it off but I've never done a "clean all the toys on Saturday" kinda thing.
I was thinking about the dishwasher or putting all his toys in the tub in some bleach water but I wasn't sure how safe that was.
Married my best friend 01/01/09
BFP#1 05/06/10. Jarebear born 12/29/10.
BFP#2 06/22/12 (DH's birthday). EDD 02/23/13. M/C and D&C 08/09/12
We don't wash them as often as we should. Maybe once every two weeks unless they are visibly dirty - The toys, not the boys
The boys get a bath together every night. Sometimes if I am tired and they haven't gotten dirty I will skip a night.
Edit: whoops, I misread and thought you asked how often the boys bathe as well. I wash the toys without batteries in the dishwasher, and the toys with batteries by hand with a disinfecting wipe, then I rinse with a hot washcloth.

I really don't wash toys regularly, just on an as-needed basis. If a plush toy is dirty, I'll use a soapy sponge & then a wet paper towel to spot clean. I also have a 7th Generation surface cleaner. It smells like arse, though.
I've only done it three times since he was born...I actually just did this the other day and I'm thinking I should try to do it more often.
I took everything the child owned and wiped it down with clorox wipes. Then washed the cloth stuff in the washing machine. It was so nice to know everything was germ and grime free. The hardest part was keeping him out of the toys until they could dry!
All of Charlie's hard toys get washed with vinegar and water once a week. His soft toys go in the wash ever other week or so. He is sick so often, I just don't want to take the chance.

See now MH refuses to put soft toys in the washing machine b/c he says that they won't dry all the way through & if there's moisture still in the inner stuffing that they will get moldy inside. This is why we only spot clean toys. I told him he was paranoid, but since he does the wash, I can't really argue I guess, lol.
Re: How often do you
Wow, now that you mention it, pretty much never.

So I guess it's on a case to case basis!

Does a baby wipe wipe down count?
