So DS has been sick for just over a month. He's in daycare, so colds & viruses spread quickly. He started off with a cold the 2nd week of January, which turned into croup after a week. It took another week before he was back to normal. He had about 2 good days (no coughing/runny nose) and then was hit by another cold/virus. This time it was a runny nose, slight cough and a lot of ear drainage (he has tubes). After a visit to the pedi (for the ear drainage) and a week of ear drops it had not gotten better, so back to the pedi we went early last week. He was put on an oral antibiotic in addition to the ear drops. The ear has finally cleared, but he developed a bad cough again last weekend. The cough seemed to go away fairly quickly, within 2-3 days, but his nose has continued. One day it will be clear and not a lot of drainage and the next it's yellowish/green and almost constant.
Obviously, I'm frustrated at this point and don't know what to do. Do I take him back to the doctor again this weekend? We've been once a week (with the exception of this week) since the 2nd week in January. They keep telling us (aside from the croup & ear) that it's viral.
Re: just a cold? or something more? (long sorry!)
