Hey ladies, so I am now 17 weeks and up to this point I have been very active besides lifting as much as I used to in the gym. I am a fitness instructor and I am currently teaching 5 cardio classes a week. However on Monday after the gym my DH and I went grocery shopping and I had to rush us out of the store because my nipples were stinging SO bad. It felt like someone was stabbing me with little needles. After I got in the car it had stopped for the most part. I taught class Tuesday and was fine but then Wednesday night it started again but this time during class. Has this happened to anyone else or is this normal?
Re: Might be TMI but asking anyways....
This has been going on my whole pregnancy. Before I got pregnant sometimes when I was really cold my nipples would be painful, but pregnancy has made it SO MUCH worse. Any time I'm cold, or something brushes them (seat belt! arg!), or sometimes just randomly they'll get hard and HURT. Like salt in a cut type of pain. Have you noticed if they change color? Mine will sometimes get dark reddish or purple with white spots when it happens, which made me think it might be Raynaud's. I brought it up to my OB but he basically just said "don't get cold".
I'm used to it now so I can get through it (it's intense enough that it takes my breath away), but I have found that taking off my bra helps almost instantly unless it's from being cold and using a lotion or something to keep them from getting dry has made it way less often and it doesn't last as long (it was 2-3 times or more a day for up to an hour at a time).
Maybe your OB will have better advice, but best of luck! If it's the same thing I'm dealing with, I sympathize. No one I've spoken with IRL has had anything similar happen.
Yeah... this happens at work to me too. So fun. You cant exactly grab on either when it happens. To me sometimes it feels like someone is pinching my nipples. It usually goes away pretty soon. I'm not nearly as active as you, though I wish I was. My work schedule kinda sucks the life out of me by the end of the day. So, I dont think its your job. Just one of those lovely joys of pregnancy no one tells you about, like round ligament pain, random drooling spurts, and uncontrollable flatulence. Gotta admit its kinda fun to start getting these little sensations though
Best Wishes!
