Ok, here's another doozy. My mom believes that at 3 months old DS will automatically know when he's tired enough to sleep and will magically go to sleep on his own. So instead of attempting his naptime routine at an appropriate hour (as I've been trying to convince her to stick with), she will read his fussiness as boredom or that he wants to play and will keep him up for 3+ hours by talking to him and tickling him and basically just overstimulating him while at the same time just waiting for him to fall asleep. And then she complains that the reason she can't get him to sleep for naps is because "your swing, your bouncer, your crib, they're all too uncomfortable for him and you have to put a pillow or cushion in there to make it softer for him so he will go to sleep." Granted, its been 35 years since my mom took care of a baby, but I'm trying to get my head around this logic. Thoughts?
