Breastfeeding

Question about eliminating dairy...

My LO has had a rash over ther neck and face for about 2 weeks now.  I initially thought it was baby acne (and it still may be but it isn't getting any better) or allergy to laundry detergent (but not better after washing everything in free and clear detergent) so now I'm beginning to think about a food allergy.  I'm exclusively breastfeeding and I may have to start eliminating foods...I'm hoping to see the pedi this afternoon.  The first two foods on my list to eliminate is dairy and peanuts.  The only thing I'll really miss is greek yogurt :(  Anyway, my question is about how far to go with eliminating dairy...do I need to stop eating foods made with milk?  I just made these delicious oatmeal muffins and milk was used to make them...should I give them up or is it ok to eliminate the obvious sources of dairy and if that doesn't work (or if it helps somewhat) then go ahead and get rid of all dairy?

 btw, that recipe is really good and a quick easy breakfast or snack.  I made them with dried cherries...yum!
