would you still eat this? update

Well, DH and I had it for dinner...it was delish! I heated it on the stove to super boiling and didn't give any to DS. I'll let you know if I'm puking tomorrow =)

I took out 2 containers of chicken and dumplings from our deep freezer last night (around 9) and put them on the counter. I meant to put them in the fridge before bed, but forgot.

I remembered at 530 this morning...they were definitely not frozen, but they were very cold.

Would you still eat it for dinner tonight?

  • I would if it were still cold, like came from fridge cold.  I'd heat it up longer than usual though just to be sure to kill anything.  I wouldn't feed it to LO though.

  • If it were 'out of the fridge' cold, I would eat it. Check stilltasty.com and see if they have suggestions...

  • I wouldn't. I'm a freak about that kind if stuff, though. I can tell you that my mom totally would. She still marinates meat out of the fridge and did the whole time I was growing up. We never got sick.

    And ditto kellog - My mom has some habits that gross me out like leaving meat out, and I never got sick from it growing up.

  • I have totally done that, stuck the food in the fridge that morning and ate it that night with no ill effects.  DH has been certified by the state in food safety/preparation and says its totally fine as long as you heat the food to 180 degrees (I think.)
