They may increase her caffeine (or her latte, as the nurses call it) after they check her levels today. The caffeine helps her remember to breathe on her own. Preemies oftentimes forget to take a breath which is why they give them caffeine.
Her bilirubin also slightly went
up last night and so she went back under the UV light today. She has been tolerating my breastmilk and they increased it to 3ml every 3 hours (up from 1 ml every 3 hours from the last 2 days). She is down to 1 pound 10 ounces, having only lost 2
ounces since birth, which is completely normal. She has also been able to tolerate being on her tummy. They like to put preemies in this position because they do better. However, when they were putting her in this position right before I took the picture, she actually put her feet down and pressed on them and was doing a sort of preemie downward dog!
Many thanks for
everyone's love and support! Being there for a couple of her desat episodes is somewhat nervewracking, but she always recovered, and I like the fact that the nurses and RT always were calm and collected and worked well as a team to get her stable.
Without further ado, here is a pic of her living it up, soaking up some rays while on her belly! I told her that she better enjoy tanning now, because once she is home, she will NEVER be allowed in the sun without sunblock!

Her success is so encouraging to me! And you are so calm!
She is gorgeous. I love pictures of babies in the "tanning bed." lol
I hope she continues to rock on!
