My water broke 6 days ago, and today they had to induce due to infection. She was born vaginally after about 4 hours of labor. She scored 7/9 on her APGARs and is able to breathe on her own. She is doing as well as she can at this point, but everyone keeps warning us that can change any second. I am terrified...and hopeful...and in love...and in disbelief. Everything happened so fast, and it is so strange to be sitting in this hospital room with no baby.
She is 2lb 7oz and just so beautiful.
Thanks for letting me join you all...

Lots of hugs! My baby was born at 29 weeks about 6wks ago and it sounds like your baby is doing much better than mine was at birth (2lb, 3oz with an initial Apgar of 3) and my son is doing great now and getting ready to come home!
Huge hugs to you! I now all too well the empty feeling of not having your baby with you
pPROM at 27 weeks, Birdy born at 28 weeks at 2lb 7oz.
Congratulations! Glad to hear she is doing well! My twins were born at 27wk5d and I can tell you that the NICU is definitely a rollercoaster ride. Just take things one day at a time and you will get through it. Best of luck to you and your little girl!
Congratulations on your precious little baby! Hang in there.
As you know, it will be rollercoaster ride, but you will be strong because that's how mamma's are!
All three of my girls were preemies, so I know what you mean about being in the room with out a baby. I still wonder how it would be to be able to immediately hold your baby, and keep them in the room all night! It was also really hard for me when I was able to come home, but the baby was not. It's sad to come home without the baby in your arms. My first DD's delivery was such a surprise, so we weren't prepared at home. I remember being so upset that no one even got a stork or balloons for the house. It was like I didn't even have a baby! It really upset me. With the twins, I was pretty sure they would be early, so I made it clear that I wanted something to signify that they were born. I just felt better coming home to a yard with a big pink stork announcing their arrival! I know that sounds trivial, but it's the little things that help so much in the beginning! Make sure someone does something special for you when you come home, not just when the baby comes home.
Your family will be my thoughts and prayers.
