My doctors don't don an u/s in the third tri. I'm worried that there could be a fluid problem and they wouldn't know. Is this something that is common? Can they detect an issue just off of your measurements. ?I'm a crazy worrier, I fully accept that.

my last US was at 18w3d. They only do another if there are issues (size, position). I guess they can tell from the fundal height? Not really sure, though.

I agree on the fundal height.

My sister didn't have an u/s scheduled, but after she felt a big drop off in the baby's movement she went to the doctor and one of the first things they checked was her fluid level.  She had to be induced as well and ended up with a c-section, but she and the baby were just fine.

I had my u/s at 19 wks and then Tues at 40 wk 4 days.  My dr only ordered it because I'm overdue.

Well some things yes, they can tell. But if its something like placenta previa, an u/s is usually the best way. You can talk to your dr. about your concerns, Im sure they will def understand where you are coming from!

If your fundal height is measuring way ahead or behind, fluid level will be one of the things they check for.
