If you bedshared, at what age did you transition your LO to his room? How did it go? I am figuring the longer I go the harder it is but I wanted to hear about others experiences.
We did the transition at 20 months. It was easy breezy. We got him some bedsheets of his fav show and a new toy. We really talked up his big boy bed during the day. Put him in his bed, said goodnight, and he slept 12 hours straight.
We also skipped the toddler bed and put him into a full sized bed as he was used to sleeping in a big bed with us. I think that helped a lot.
We are in the process of transitioning him right now. He is about 16 months old. It has not been easy but it is worth it in the long run. Last night he STTN for the first time but we are still having issues when he goes down.
After reading about different types of methods and trying a few, I realized every child is different. We did what we felt he needed at the time.
It makes me feel better to know that others bedshare for awhile. It sounds like some have no problem transitioning and others struggle. Uggh, I guess I won't know until we try.
