I need help
My little guy is coming up two weeks old and he seems really gassy.
He is exclusively breastfed and eating every three hours or so. I burp him after each feeding. Two days ago he vomited up what looked like the contents of his tummy and we have a lot of spitup since then.
It seems like when he is awake that his tummy is bothering him. He pulls his legs up and strains. He is still passing bowel movements that look mustardy and seedy. We usually put him on his tummy and pat his back and he farts and that seems to help.
Is this unusual for a breastfed baby? Is there anything I can do to help avoid giving him gas?

As well as what pp said, maybe check LOs latch. He could be gulping down a lot of air as he drinks.
our little girl is also very gassy, and my older girl was too. It peaked at around 10 weeks, and then eased off.

Z was really a really gassy baby too. Try doing running baby. Sit reclined and put baby face up on your legs. Make his legs go up and down like he is running. Then gently press both knees towards his belly. This got a lot of gas out for Z and he was much more comfortable.
I also eliminated dairy from my diet and it really helped. He was not lactose intolerant (I added dairy back around 6 months) but it gave him excessive gas.
