was it all of a sudden or did you notice them trying to get out before they really did? DD is 18 months but not especially tall and I don't think she could climb out but every now I'll wonder if she could have.
It was all of a sudden (at least I think it was). We lowered the mattress and even though he is capable of climbing out of it at this point (he is on the tall side) he has not tried since.
All of a sudden. We had his mattress lowered to the very bottom at 8 months (per his pedi -- apparently this is the rule?) and at about 19 months he climbed out 3x in one day. Showed us how he did it.
I think you'll know when it happens. I went in after nap & L was playing with blocks on his floor. I was like WTF?!
DS hadn't even turned 1 yet and out he went. He did it at home and at daycare. We put him in his crib while we were moving furniture around in our room so he wouldn't get hurt. We turned around after lifting the dresser and he was standing there starring at us.
Crib tent did not work for us. It didn't fit on our crib properly, and it freaked DS out completely. He also wasn't allowed to ues it at daycare so they transferred him to a cot and we turned his crib at home into a toddler bed.
