Fighting sleep?

Why is it my 9 week old fights sleep so much. She will be on her playmate and I can tell she is getting sleepy (fussy) so I pick her up to bounce/rock her and will just scream til she finally falls asleep. This happens almost every single time prior to a nap.... Is this normal?

    I just called my pedi today about this same thing.  They said that some LO's dont want to miss anything so they fight sleep.  As long as they are full, and clean diaper, then fighting sleep can be normal.
