Carseat Help

My 3 year old is in a Britax Advocate and my 11 month old is in a Peg Perego. I have a MDX and they are currently each in the outboard seats because the carseats wouldn't fit side-by-side due to the wings on the Advocate. We are going to move our soon-to-be 1 yr old to a new car seat soon (weight limits) but prefer to keep him rear facing until 2 years old. Our preference is to get a Britax but, turned around I think the bulky Britax's would be difficult in my car. When I tried it before I could see over my Advocate when it was in the middle seat because the back is so high. In the outboard seats it came so far forward that we couldn't really use the front passenger seat of my car.

Any suggestions?? Are other Britax carseats much more compact than the Advocate and potential options for rear-facing in a car my size?

TIA. Haven't been on these boards in a long time but I am stumped and know there are some knowledgeable moms on here!

Re: Carseat Help

  • We use Combi Cocorro's for both girl for this reason. They are more compact car seats, not as bulky and a bit skinnier then other car seats.

  • We have a Sunshine Kids Radian rfing in the middle of our MDX. Next to it is a Recaro high back booster. The booster actually takes up a lot more room than any convertible seat, but it still fits because the Radian is so slim.
