Second/third pregnancy belly

Ok, for those of you that have had/are on your second or third pregnancy... does your belly seem to be feeling/growing the same shape as before?  I think for most of us, it definitely pops out faster.  That is not what I mean.

I feel like I have more chub/fat on my belly.  It seems more floppy or something.  (I know, kinda grody).  I am not a big person and was pretty slim when I got pregnant (like high school weight) so it seems weird that I feel so flabby with this belly.  I am trying to figure out if it's because it's my third pregnancy and my body is just stretched out, or if it's because I'm maybe putting on more weight with this pregnancy (possible) or if I'm really just growing differently with this baby.  I don't remember thinking this with pregnancy #2.

Did this make sense?

Anyone?

  • I know exactly what you are talking about.  For me it was my lower belly- the leftover skin.  I thought it would stretch out right away, but it sort of just hung around staying flabbish...until around 34 weeks.  Now, especially since she has dropped, it is as hard as the rest of my body.

I am not looking forward to my PP body again.  I know it will be alright eventually, but I HATE these first few months after giving birth.  ::sigh::

  • I feel more chubby like there is extra skin that hasn't been used up yet with growth.  I am definitely bigger.  My belly button never popped with DD and it did this time.  It could also be since I had practically no time between pregnancies.

  • My belly was more "floppy" with my 2nd. I think it had to do with my c-section and my abs. I look back at my first pregnancy pictures and think I actually looked cute. With the 2nd one I just look large and very very tired.

  • Yes.Yes.Yes.  With both girls my stomach was pretty hard all the time- like I could feel the uterus.  Now, it's like I can't even feel my uterus...just lots of "padding" which wasn't really there before.  I don't know what's going on but I am not loving it, that's for sure.

With the other two pregnancies I also had lots of growing pains/muscle pains when things were separating am not having any of that this time around.

  • Ok I'm glad it's not just me!  Yes, it is in the lower part of my belly.  I know at the end of pregnancy, it will all be pretty firm and tight but right now it's strangely flabby.  Not ok!

I go to the dr next week... I'm a little worried about my weight gain.  Oy.
