I hate it when other parents give you dirty looks......

WTH? So what my child was screaming at preschool drop-off, so YES I   gave him an M&M to try and get his mind off of it and BRIBE him! She looked at me like OMG I can not believe you are giving him an M&M. Big freaking deal woman, if it helps then that's what I'll do it's not like I'm giving him a shot of whiskey. Vent over! So people just think they are so much better then others!

  • Ugh, I hate that too. You know they've ALL been in that situation.

  • I usually give looks of pity!  I know what it is like and at times am relieved when its someone else's child instead of mine.

If it ever happens again, give her the finger.

  • You can borrow my DD next time.  She has this odd ability to make the other kids stop crying when their parents drop them off.

    I'd cry for some M&M's.  lol  :-)

  • you do what you gotta do - that's my motto.

  • Good Plan BAC.
  • I'm the queen of bribes...so I could never say anything!  I'd probably be offering you some of my "bribe supplies" that I keep in my purse!!

  • Of all people I will never understand the judgey mothers. I mean yes if my kid is freaking out I am not suprised to get a dirty look from some sorority girl at the store because she has never been put in that situation. But a mother has! I think some woman have such low self esteem that it really makes them feel good to feel like a superior mother.
  • Fock em is what I have to say.  We've all been there.  I keep suckers in my diaper bags for those exact kind of situations!!!!
  • Hey, at least you were doing something about it! Who cares if it's technically a bribe! I usually reserve my dirty looks for moms who are seemingly oblivious to their kid's tantrums and don't think it affects other people. If you're making an obvious effort, then who am I to judge how you're diffusing the situation?

  • You should offer her some next time she looks at you. Say it in a baby voice, "do you want some yummies too?"

  • I carry M&M's everywhere I go! If it stops my DS from crying so be it!?
